When walking by someone’s home, have you ever literally stopped and smelled, and maybe admired, the roses? How about an entire garden? Well, for one day in Lewes, visitors will be able to stop and admire beautiful gardens during the town’s 27th Annual Lewes Garden Tour.
Lisa visits the historic town to get a preview of this weekend’s event with Lewes Chamber of Commerce member, Betsy Reemer.
“We are very blessed that there are so many people here that take pride in their gardens and are willing to showcase them and let us have people come in and see them too.”
Reemer goes on to tell Lisa how the event began when a local business opened their garden gates allowing town residents and visitors to see what was growing behind their home. Soon, it became so popular that others started opening up their gardens to visitors, and twenty-seven years later the event is still blossoming.
Another great perk, there is no need to drive. The town is offering a free shuttle service so visitors don’t have to worry about parking their car.
Visitors can pick up their tickets at the Lewes Visitors Center and start touring gardens right away!
The 27th Annual Lewes Garden Tour will be on Saturday, June 17 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. in downtown Lewes. For more information, or to purchase tickets, click here.
