From the young to the old, Pittsville, Md. native Valerie Wagner helps a wide variety of people. In addition to serving on the Wicomico County Board of Education and being superintendent of Sunday School at Jerusalem United Methodist Church, she also works at the MAC Area Agency on Aging assisting seniors with staying active.

“Valerie is an extraordinary person,” lifelong friend Bonnie Seaton said. “She’s managed to do all the things she has done while raising a family, caring for her parents and holding down a job at MAC.”

Wagner also helps local children stay active through “The Little Sluggers” program, an organization that allows young girls to play softball. Her sister, Mindy West, gushes about how the girl’s feel about Wagner.

“The biggest impact I have seen is with ‘The Little Sluggers’ program, seeing the young girls that have played softball with her that are always coming back to her,” West said.
