The National Federation of the Blind says that over 60,000 school-aged kids are blind. Lourdes Morales was legally blind through school. Lourdes is looking into creating software to help blind people. She is hoping the tools she creates will help others.
Cynthia Chavez is co-founder of Baltimore Dance Crews Project. She was a new teacher trying to relate to her students. Therefore, she started a hip hop club. Cynthia says that they realized it wasn’t only an opportunity for students to build relationships with their teachers, they have also built relationships with other peers. The focus for the project is on improving relationships, academics, and fitness.
