Free music, food, games and activities can help entice anyone to an event. Throw in a pet parade and a chance to win a bicycle and other prizes, it’s an event Salisbury residents can’t resist.
National Night Out is a free community event that will be held Tuesday, Aug. 4 from 5-8 p.m. at Salisbury City Park by the bandstand. This local event is designed to heighten awareness of crime and drug prevention, as well as foster police-community partnerships.
Those who bring a canned food item for the MD Food Bank, will receive an extra chance to win some of the many prizes the event has to offer!
About National Night Out
National Association of Town Watch is the nation’s premiere non-profit crime prevention organization dedicated to the development and promotion of crime prevention in communities across the nation. Composed of law enforcement agencies, the network was able to launch the annual National Night Out campaign.
This annual community-building campaign promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, better places to live by enhancing the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a sense of community.
Neighborhoods across the nation host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other various community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel and exhibits.
