Lights Out 7 kicked off the 2016 racing season for most of the racers here in the United States, and for several local drivers here on Delmarva. Racers from all over traveled to South Georgia Motorsports Park for one of the fastest races of the year. Delaware racers Ron Rhodes and Steve Drummond left their stamp in the state of Georgia this past weekend.
Ron Rhodes from Townsend, Del. raced in the X275 classes beating out several racers all the way to the finals. Where Rhodes took the final pass of the time for the X275 win with a 4.44 in the eighth mile.

Steve Drummond of Laurel, Del. ran in the Pro 275 making down to the final two fastest cars in that class. Drummond made his final pass of the night as runner up in Pro 275 with a 4.27 pass.
Lance White, Lewis Jones, and Ronny Rhodes also made the trip down to Georgia running in the Ultimate Street class. Jones & White had mechanical issues not being able to let them succeed past first round but tried with great efforts. Rhodes from Townsend, Del. making it to the third round in Ultimate Street.

Local racers are also preparing for the 2016 racing season held at U.S. 13 Dragway in Delmar, Del. The first Test & Tune will be held on March 6th and the first official points race day will be held on March 27th.
