Carrie Underwood is an American singer/songwriter from Oklahoma. She was the winner of the fourth season of American Idol in 2005. Carrie was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2008 and into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2009. She has won seven Grammy Awards, seventeen Billboard Music Awards, eleven Academy of Country Music Awards, and eight American Music Awards.
Her first album was titled ‘Some Hearts‘ and was released in 2005. ‘Some Hearts,’ which is the best selling-solo female debut album in country music history, included two of Carrie’s hits “Jesus, Take the Wheel” and “Before He Cheats.” In 2007, Carrie released her second album, ‘Carnival Ride,’ and it had one of the biggest opening weeks by a female artist. She released two more albums ‘Play On‘ in 2009, which featured her hit “Cowboy Casanova,” and ‘Blown Away‘ in 2012. Carrie is the biggest American Idol earner of all time.

When did you start listening to Carrie?
I started listening to Carrie Underwood shortly after she won American idol. I remember her first single being “Jesus, Take the Wheel” and fell in love with the song and all of her music ever since.
What makes her so great?
I think what makes her so great is her amazing voice. I definitely think she has the best female voice hands down. Her personality is also what makes her so great and her performing ability as well. Basically everything about her is what makes her so great!
What is your favorite song by her?
My favorite song by her would have to be “Temporary Home”. It just reminds me that this life is only temporary but it’s so hard to choose a favorite song of hers, I love them all!!
Are you going to Big Barrel this year?
Yes I am going to Big Barrel! I would have paid the $99 just to see Carrie Underwood alone!!
Have you seen Carrie perform before?
I saw her perform right after she won American idol on the idol tour. So I have seen her before, but she didn’t have any of her own music yet, and I wasn’t as big of a fan as I am now.
Do you think she will be a huge fan favorite at Big Barrel this year?
Yes, I think she will be my favorite from the festival this year! She’s really the only reason I’m going, but I am excited to see some of the other artists too.
What are your thoughts of a big country music festival like this coming to Delaware?
I think having a big country music festival here in Delaware is amazing! This is the kind of festival I would travel far away to go to and it’s awesome that I get to go to something that is less than 20 mins from where I live. I’m so excited!!
