Delmarva Birding’s ‘Spring Birding Weekend’ kicked off on Thursday, April 21, with 101 sightings on day 1 for the 21st annual event.
The Delmarva Spring Birding Weekend will celebrate the migration of thousands of warblers, shorebirds, waterfowl and raptors from April 21-24.
In the days leading up to the event, there were sightings of Piping Plover, Osprey Tree Swallow and Glossy Ibis from Delmarva’s beaches and bays. In previous years, more than 200 species have been recorded during the Spring DBW.
