You can spend weeks, even months, traveling up and down Delmarva learning about each towns history. Some of the history can be seen in buildings and other landmarks that have been preserved over the years. For the town of Ocean View in Sussex County, that preservation came late. The historical society was formed less than a decade ago, but in that short amount of time, the town takes visitors back hundreds of years.
As a member of the Ocean view historical society, Barbara Salvin, contributes a lot. That is because several generations her family made their life here. In fact, the historical Tunnel-West house is named after some of her family members. That is how she knows certain facts about the town of Ocean View.
