As the seasons come and go so do the trends. Ensure your living space is on-trend with this year’s most sought after looks and ideas.
Free Standing Tubs:
After burnout from overuse of Jacuzzi style tubs over the past decade. Many are making a shift to the vintage look of a free standing tub. While this type of tub may immediately bring to mind Victorian-era tubs, companies like Kohler (Link) have taken these familiar looks and updated with fresh styles that bring together that vintage touch with a modern flair.
Quartz Countertops:
While Granite is still going strong, Quartz is quickly making its way into the mix. Quartz boasts both the best qualities of laminate and stone. The stone’s durability means that unlike other countertops, quarts resists staining or corrosion from cooking oils, liquids, and most household cleaning products without requiring constant re-sealing.
Outdoor Living:
Homeowners continue to see their outdoor living space as an extension of the home. An example of this is the rise of the open fire features, which nearly half of all millennials have in their outdoor space. About half of Millennials report that their current use for outdoor space is limited to grilling, yet a majority want their space to feel like a relaxing retreat for entertaining. Millennials are more likely than older generations to use their outdoor space for meals and to decorate it as they would their living or dining room. Overall, respondents see outdoor living space as an extension of the home and an important place for family to spend time together according to a study from Better Homes & Gardens

Warm Color Tones:
“I’m seeing warmer, muddy colors start to come back into vogue. I can’t get enough of rust, olive, dusty mint, and aubergine—and I still like a splash of bright color thrown on top though, just to keep things exciting!” Jenny Komenda(Link), Little Green Notebook
