The 14th Dewey Beach Patrol 10K/5K will be held 8 a.m. Sunday, July 31, and will begin and end at the Ivy Restaurant. Proceeds from the race will go to the Dewey Beach Patrol Competition Team. This event is part of Ten Sister’s Dewey Beach Series.
“It goes toward helping our competition team for travel expenses, lodging, equipment and for other beach patrol needs.” said Senior Lt. Chris Muscara. Over the past 14 years, Muscara attributes the tradition to all of the participants that come back year after year. He said that the relationship with Highway One and Races2Run also contributed.

Seeing the members of the community participating in a race for a great cause is Muscara’s favorite part. He loves seeing members of the Dewey Beach Patrol coming out and using their skills that they’ve learned through their training out on a run.
