Each year, kids compete at their local track, having the chance of racing at the NHRA Eastern Conference Finals which were held at last week and weekend at Bristol Dragway in Bristol, TN. Kids ages 5 to 17 come from Maine all the way down to Florida to compete in their respected age groups to determine the new 2015 Champion.
Several local Jr Dragster drivers from right here on Delmarva took the road trip down early to compete in the Huddleston Performance Fun Races. Kody Mariner of Salisbury, MD competed on Tuesday, July 21 in the 13 to 17 year old Thunder Valley Challenge beating out 339 other kids his age for the #1 spot. He went 10 rounds of eliminations that day taking home the top prize.

Ryan Jackson of Newark, MD went to Tennessee to compete also. Jackson made it to the second round in the Huddleston Performance Fun Race and also made a second round appearance in the title race in his respected age group.

Ethan Hubbard of Princess Anne, MD was the previous 10 year old Eastern Conference final runner up, unfortunately losing first round in the title race, but making a great 5 round showing in the Huddleston Performance Fun Race.

Drag racing brothers Zach and Nyck Shirkey of Ridgley, MD, made their appearnce in the rounds at Bristol Dragway. Nyck may have lost first round in the title race, but he did make it to the second round in the fun race.

Nyck also cheered on his brother Zach as he continued to the 4th round of the Huddleston Performance fun race and became the 2015 6-9 year old Eastern Conference Final runner up.
