This week at the K & N Spring Fling event held at Galot Motorsports Park in Benson, North Carolina, racers from all over gather to compete in a 4 day event. Wednesday May 2nd was a $15,000 race, Thursday May 3rd was a $20,000, Friday May 4th is a $50,000 race and Saturday May 5th is a $20,000. The event gives over $50,000 in racer appreciation giveaways, special shootouts and running door cars and dragsters seperate until 16 or less for each race.
Last night at the K & N Spring Fling they held a 32 doorcar shootout where local racer, Bill Groton of Seaford, De., made his way through the competition to take the win for $10,000 and title of the 32 doorcar shootout champion.
Groton raced his 4 door 67 Pontiac Tempest against Bryson Scruggs in his Ford Mustang. Groton with a .012 light to Scruggs .000, took the win when he ran a 7.50 on a 7.48 dial as Scruggs breaks out with a 5.93 on a 5.95 dial.
