Matey Barker, with the Somerset County Health Department, tell us that Narcan is a drug that can be administered shorty after a drug overdose occurs to help restore breathing and life to the person. When the person is non-responsive, blue finger tips, and gurgling, they may have overdosed. 9-1-1 needs to be called and Narcan needs to be administered. Even after the Narcan, the victim needs to still seek medical attention to confirm a drug overdose, or another medical condition.
