Holiday Scams – Officials from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.) are advising shoppers to be aware of online scams that would have consumers purchase counterfeit goods instead of genuine products.

Key signs that a website may be peddling counterfeit goods include:

All products listed are on sale, or extremely low prices

Website does not have proper contact information

The product is not shipping from within the U.S.

The buyer is redirected to an external online payment system during checkout

East Coast Farmer’s Market – Millsboro, Del.: East Coast Garden Center holds the farmer’s market every Tuesday from Noon – 3 p.m. from now until April. The market has 25 unique local vendors offering anything from apples to baked goods to wild caught fish.

DART’s 18th Annual “Stuff the Bus” Thanksgiving Food Drive – In one week, the food drive brought in more than nine tons of food for Delawareans in need. The donations filled two 30 ft. buses! The Food Bank of Delaware will distribute the donated food through its Hunger Relief Partners.

Gabby Gobble 5k – Lewes, Del.: Nearly 600 runners are expected to participate in the event which should raise nearly $10,000. The event is in memory of Gabby Vogel, who passed away at the age of five because of a brain tumor. The 5k starts at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 26 at Irish Eyes in Lewes. Registration is $30 on race day.

22nd Annual Caroling in the Park – Seaford, Del.: Enjoy performances from members of Seaford High School and sing along to Christmas carols at the official tree lighting in Gateway Park in Seaford on Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. For more information, call 302-629-9173.

Salisbury University Music Festival: S.U. is holding its annual winter music festival – “The Sounds of Salisbury: A Family Gathering.” Performances from The Salisbury Chorale, University Chorale, Madrigal Choir, The Salisbury Pops, and the S.U. Jazz Ensemble are Dec 5 – 13 in Holloway Hall Auditorium beginning at 7:3- p.m.

19th Century ChristmasFurnace Town Living Heritage Village: The event on Dec. 5 will feature music by Bob Sellers. There will also be a 19th century church service at the Historic Old Nazareth Church. Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for children. For more information, call 410-632-2032.
