boyscouts

The Boy Scouts of America can really change the lives of the young men who go through the program.

Development Director for the Del-mar-va Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Kevin Les Callette, joins us on the couches to talk about what it takes to become a boy scout and how it is a wonderful program for young men to be involved in.

On the Delmarva Peninsula, there are over 10,000 young men and women in their program. There are even co-ed programs that start at age 14.

Young men take away leadership skills, team building skills and friendships from being in the Boy Scouts program.

Kevin tells us that they have different troops that kids can visit and see what works for them. They have some troops that are high adventure and others are more basic skills. Kevin said it’s important to find what fits for each child.

They also have an event coming up to recognize Dr. Peggy Naleppa for her service and will raise over $70,000 to help support scouting programs and services.
