The Rescigno boys are back in town.
On Sunday, Dec. 11, ‘There’s Rescigno Place Like Home for the Holidays’ will be playing at the Milton Theatre in Milton, Del. The performance is a traditional New York style cabaret, full of song and comedy.
Robbie and Paul Rescigno grew up watching their sister perform with the Milford Second Street Players and then began acting in plays at Milford Senior High School. Upon graduating high school in 2002, the twins began pursuing their acting careers at Syracuse University.
“When I was looking at programs my senior year in high school, I wasn’t looking at theater but it fell into place,” Paul says. “I loved the school, the people were wonderful, it was just a great experience.”

The boys studied acting and performed cabaret theater, quickly landing jobs in New York City after graduation. Robbie started working as a page for NBC and Paul began his career as a page for the David Letterman Show. At age 32, the brothers have perfected the off-broadway showcase, performing their award-winning variety show in theaters throughout the city.
Less than a year ago, the Rescignos did a performance at World Cafe Live at the Queen in Wilmington which lead to a gig at the Milton Theatre in June. After running into Fred Munzert, executive director of the Milton Theatre, they knew they had to come back.
“When we were talking to him in June, the whole process was just great, they treated us really good,” Robbie says.
Sunday’s showing of There’s Rescigno Place Like Home for the Holidays will be the duo’s eighth annual holiday show, however, it will be the first one outside of NYC. With busy schedules between the actors and vendors it has been tough to go on the road. For this performance, seven others will accompany the brothers to Milton.
Each holiday show has a brand new script and songs. In addition, the group sings a traditional holiday song, as well as a few original pieces and parodies.
“We try to cater the show differently to where we are…a joke about Rehoboth Beach traffic wouldn’t go over well in New York,” Paul laughs.

Both brothers can both agree the holiday shows are their favorite because they are able to work with each other and their friends.
In addition to the holiday show, Robbie says he loves performing in Delaware, in general. His favorite part about performing in his home state is the fact that a lot of the audience knows them and they are able to recognize dozens of people — some of which they haven’t seen in 15 years.
Although many Delawareans have seen their fair share of Resicgno performances, Paul says a number of them haven’t been to their holiday shows, but their parents are an exception.
“They come to every show…. they’re going to love this show because they don’t have to come to New York,” Paul says. “The theater is only about 10 minute from my house without traffic.”
At the end of the day, the twins agree performing is all about having fun. The Rescignos plan to come back to Sussex County in May for a performance at the Milford Hospital fundraiser.
“Any chance our schedules work out to perform in Delaware we would definitely do it,” Robbie says.
