In an effort to celebrate the diverse cultures that make up Milford, Del., Downtown Milford Inc. is inviting the public to the city’s first ever International Food Festival.

The festival will be held Sunday, Nov. 15,  from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. at Riverwalk Park in downtown Milford, and will highlight the various cultures that make up the city’s population.

The event takes place on Walnut Street across from the Riverfront Theatre, where the Riverwalk Farmers Market is held each Saturday. Event highlights include face painting from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., sidewalk chalk from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m., and live music with Flamenco Guitar from 1 p.m.-4 p.m!

This event is part of Downtown Milford Inc.’s Diversity Project, an effort to be more inclusive of all city residents. According to Downtown Milford Inc. Executive Director Lee Nelson, 33 percent of Milford’s population is made up of minorities.

“Eating and food is something all cultures are interested in thus the ‘Milford International Food Festival’ was created,” Nelson said.

In the event of inclement weather, the festival will be held at the Milford Senior Center.
