Oakley’s husband is a 3rd generation farmer who went to college for agriculture. He always wanted a produce stand and he set out to make that a reality. Oakley says with each generation comes a wave of new and changing ideas.

Oakley’s Farm Market’s motto is “You’re part of the local economy, so you understand how important it is to keep this city vibrant and moving forward. We’re doing that, too!”

Oakley’s Farm Market serves 500-600 customers a week, offering watermelons, cantaloupes, fresh corn, strawberries, peaches, tomatoes, squashes and peppers. To the local family, fresh produce is extremely important for the community. Oakley says she is glad their farm can be a provider for the local residents.

“Nothing’s sweeter than a fresh red apple or crisp cabbage from your own backyard. Our market’s the next best thing.”

Strawberry season is one of the best times for Oakley’s Farm Market.

“We allow the customer to pick anywhere and we don’t limit them to one section of the field. It’s clean, weed free, and it’s easy picking.” she says.

Oakley’s Farm Market encourages families to come out and pick together. The small business is so community oriented, they go as far as handing out free strawberry shortcakes on Mother’s Day each year.

Oakley’s Farm Market is open daily, from 8 a.m-7 p.m.
