The 320,000- 345,000 vacationers during the summer weekends is one of the many reasons Ocean City has been placed on TripAdvisor’s Best Beaches in the United States list.
According to Jessica Waters, Communications Manager of the Town of Ocean City, the town has pride themselves on being a safe, clean and affordable destination for vacationing and living.
“We work year round to make sure Ocean City sparkles for residents and visitors,” Waters said.

Ocean City is widely known in the Mid-Atlantic region and is a frequent destination for vacationers in that area. Waters says being placed on a list with beach destinations in Hawaii, California and Florida, really shows people on the East Coast enjoy Ocean City as a premiere beach destination.
“Ocean City, for the past several decades, has built, and continues to build a reputation as one of the top tourist destinations on the East Coast. We are located a close driving distance to several Metropolitan areas—you can get to Ocean City without jumping on a plane.”
Also placed on TripAdvisor’s list are Newport Beach, California, Panama City Beach, Florida and Lanikai Beach in Hawaii. Waters says having the town on this list, makes the year round work, worthwhile.
“We think it’s wonderful. It certainly makes us feel good and shows us hard work pays off,” Waters said.
