The Ocean City Police Department is set to soon start collecting new, unwrapped toys for its annual Holiday Toy Drive.

This year’s toy donations will go toward Worcester GOLD, a local non-profit organization that strives to promote and provide for underprivileged and vulnerable families in Worcester County. All toys provided to the OCPD will go toward helping Worcester GOLD’s “Helping Hands for the Holidays” program, which in the past has provided for more than 1,000 citizens during the holiday season.

“Our regular beneficiary won’t be operational this year, but this year’s selection of Worcester GOLD is a perfect fit for what we want to do,” said Ocean City police spokesperson Lindsay Richard. “They’ve helped hundreds of people through their programs and they’re local, which is what we’re aiming for.”

Toy donations can be dropped off at the Public Safety Building at 6501 Coastal Highway. Any monetary donations should be directed toward Worcester County GOLD and mailed to P.O. Box 39, Snow Hill, MD 21863.

Deadline for all toy donations is Dec. 13. For more information on the toy drive and Worcester GOLD, call (410) 520-5395.
