About Faces Day Spa and Salon Manager, Crystal Miles, says weddings start around the same time as prom, so you want to make sure you schedule appointments in advance.
If you are interested in getting a spray tan for the special day, you’ll want to plan ahead even more. If you’ve never had a spray tan before, you may want to test it out long before the big day.
“There’s different shades you can use – you can go a little lighter or a little darker, so depending on your skin tone you can kind of change that up the day of the actual spray tan, but I think it’s a good idea to try it to make sure you like it,” Crystal says.
Crystal also suggest getting the spray tan a few days before the prom. A nail appointment is also something you can do a few days before prom.
“A lot of girls now do the Shellac or the gel nails which is basically a long lasting polish and what that does it not have you worry as much, if you do have it done a few days before//that they still look like they were done today,” Crystal says.
The matte look is in this year, as well as countering with shimmer or rhinestones to give your nails a pop. Crystal says shimmery, shiny, and blingy are still big for nail designs.
Girls usually know what they want their make-up to look like for the big day.
“The winged eyeliner was popular last year and I imagine it will be popular this year, the smokey eye, they want to look super fancy that day and rightfully so,” Crystal says.
A prom look wouldn’t be complete without a fabulous hairdo. Crystal suggests doing a little research before settling in on a style.
“You want to try to find a picture if you can but keep in mind that you have to find a picture that is similar to your hair type, so if you have really curly hair finding a straight picture or someone with fine hair may not be attainable for you,” Crystal says.
