They say your home is one of your biggest investments, so it makes sense that you would want it to be as close to perfect as possible.
What happens if you just can’t find a home that has all the amentaties that you want? Perhaps, you can build a home from scratch. However, there are a couple things to consider to be sure your home turns out exactly how you want it.
Sean talks with Jake Booth, President of Capstone Homes, to learn all about it. Jake says while there are a lot of great existing homes out there, building a new house has its advantages.
“You can really focus on exactly what the customer wants. So say you go looking at homes when you look at five or six different houses all day are you having quite exactly found what you’re looking for while in a new construction you can make all of those decisions upfront and make sure all of those features getting your new home,” Jake says.

Jake says one way to make sure you’re getting all those features you want in a new home is by drawing on past experiences.
“Reflect on how you’re living experiences right now in your current home and what other things you’d like to improve and bring that mindset, take some notes and come and talk to a sales person to talk to one of our model homes when the folks that are model homes to figure out how you can keep the things that are important that work for you and improve upon the things that you’d like to see improved upon,” Jake says.
Location and type of community are important to consider. Capstone currently has four different communities for you to choose from, or you can build on property you already own. Either way, the first step is to chat with a sales representative, Jake says. Once you pick out a model you like, a sales representative can help you work with the architect to customize your home.

“We think it’s very important that the homebuyer is involved with the process and we want them to be able to see everything and enjoy the process and see how their home is built,” says Jake.
Once the home is finished, all that’s left to do is one final walkthrough.
“That’s probably the most rewarding meeting that we have. Because the house is 100% complete the customers are seeing it 100% complete for the first time and we’re walking them through the house and explaining how everything works in the home and showing them their brand-new home that they help design,” Jake says.
