If something goes wrong with your plumbing during the cold winter months ahead, it can cost you a large amount of money to fix the issue.

We’re going to help you avoid that! Owner of Chesapeake Plumbing and Heating, Travis Martin, joins us on the couches to answer viewer questions and addresses plumbing concerns people have during the winter season.

Travis says it’s important to shut off foundation vents and seal crawlspace access doors tight so the pipes do not freeze during the colder months.

Travis tells us that tankless water heaters should be flushed annually. He also says it’s important to disconnect hose bibs during the winter as well.

Many people notice their pipes are slow draining which could be caused by tree roots. Travis says they can run a drain auger down the pipe and cut the roots out or they can use a video inspection camera they can put into the pipe. Once they see where the roots and the block are using the camera, they will know where to dig and take care of the issue.

Chesapeake Plumbing and Heating is offering specials this month as well. Check them out here.
