opiod

Overdoses are the leading cause of death of Americans under the age of 50-years-old.

The heroin and opiod crisis is affecting many people in the Delmarva community. For those fighting addiction, the road to recovery is not easy, but it is not impossible. Chesapeake Treatment Services has expanded and is offering more services to those who need it most.

They have seen success with a mix of counseling and the use other prescriptions to help fight the withdraw systems.

“I think they feel desperate at times and feel like there’s no way to stop because opiate addiction really takes a hold of you and makes you feel like that is the only option… that you can’t get well and that’s why it is very important to use medication along with counseling to help them in the recovery process,” Melissa Bishop, director of operations, says.

Chesapeake Treatment Services also helps an addict get a the support system they need and with locations in Easton, Salisbury and Ocean City they make the road to a healthy new life a little less painful.
