Gospel music can be traced back to the early 17th century.
Hymns and sacred songs were often repeated in a call and response fashion. Today, gospel music varies according to culture and social context, but it’s core remains spiritual. Here on Delmarva, a group is keeping gospel music alive. Delmarva Gospel Music Association President, Jim Collins, stops by Historic Studio D to tell us more about the association and their upcoming event. There is a concert coming up on Friday, August 24, featuring the Gold City Quartet and local talent, Dave Morgan. The concert is from 7 pm-9 pm at Sam Yoder Farm in Houston.
