It’s no secret that the state of Delaware has a rich history – and a lot of that history is rooted in its capital city of Dover. Every year, the city celebrates its heritage and culture with one of the largest, longest running events in the state. The 83rd Annual Dover Days Festival is May 6 – 8.
Wendy Vestall, Executive Director of Kent County Tourism, and Sarah Zimmerman, Park Superintendent with First State Heritage Park, stop the DelmarvaLife studio to tell us all about the event. Learn more here.
Peach pies are a big part of the celebration at Dover Days. So we’re getting in on the fun with a peach pie eating competition.
Sean Streicher takes on John Doerfler with the Kent County Office of Tourism, and Craig Horleman, who was the peach pie eating champion from last year. The yummy peach pies were donated by Fifer Orchards.
