102.5 WBOC’s Corey Phoebus recently went through something most women only wish their spouses could go through – labor pains.
Obviously, it was simulated labor pains, but by the looks of it, Corey was really feeling the “simulated contractions.”
Krista Brooks, founder of Eastern Shore Wellness and Pregnancy Center, said they are usually known for doulas and mid-wives.
A doula is somebody who is there for you throughout your pregnancy – labor, birth and postpartum. For emotional and physical support and to help you make informed decisions for your birth process.
Krista also says they take a more holistic approach meaning they do things non-medical. They use herbs and supplements and help clear the woman’s body and mind to get them in a better state of being.
Krista hooks Corey up to a labor simulator which will simulate contractions. The simulator shows Corey what it’s like to go through back pains and contractions.
Krista says they also deal with pain management and addiction. They use hypnosis and life coaches to help with those issues.
