When you buy a car one of the first things you decide is if you’re going to buy new or pre-owned.
Each have their benefits and it’s up to you to decide if you want to save a little money by going pre-owned or if you want to have that brand new car warranty. At Hertrich, they have certified pre-owned vehicles and it combines the best of both worlds.
Sean visits their new location in Salisbury to find out what qualifies a car to be a Hertrich Certified Pre-Owned vehicle.
Obviously a brand new car is just that – brand new. Pre-owned vehicles have been owned by someone else, General Manager of the new Hertrich Buick GMC of Salisbury, David Wackettis, says they can be trade ins or sometimes they’ll buy them from the manufacturer. If that vehicle meets certain requirements, it earns the title of being a Hertrich Certified Pre-Owned vehicle.
“The difference with the certified pre-owned vehicle is it’s going to come standard with a seven year 100,000 mile power-train warranty on it. It’s also going to come with a 12 month 12,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty on it and there’s a lot of other little things that we make sure with those certified vehicles,” Dave says.
Dave says, for a vehicle to be certified it has to be no older than five years from the currently calendar year, and it cannot have any more than 60,000 miles on it. They also make sure there are two sets of keys and they check brakes, tires, and all the fluids, which gives a peace of mind to the customer.
