If you take a ride around Delmarva this time of year, it won’t be long before you stumble upon a hayride, pumpkin patch, or corn maze.

A family farm can be the perfect fall road trip destination offering fun for the whole family. Sean Streicher stopped by one that has been around for almost 100 years – Fifer Orchards in Kent County, Del.

Before taking the trip, Sean stopped by Hertrich Capital Mazda, Lincoln of Dover to pick up a 2016 Mazda CX-9. General Manager of Hertrich Capital of Dover, Travis Cooper, gives us the specs on the Mazda CX-9.

“It gets up to 30 miles per gallon and it’s completely redesigned for 2016. The middle seats slide forward and back so depending on if you have taller children or smaller, everybody can be comfortable. This particular one behind us is a signature series which basically comes with top-of-the-line quality leather and very smooth ride, with SKYACTIV technology. It comes with a five-star safety rating, has radar cruise control, has crash alert so if it gets too close it’s going to alert you about an up-and-coming crash. And also it has smart city breaks support so if you’re in the city and you happen to look away and somebody stops it’s going to stop the car for you,” Travis says.

Fifer Orchards is a family farm that has been around since 1919. It is located a couple miles west of Dover, in Camden-Wyoming Delaware. Fifer’s Corn Maze Fun park is currently open for business. Kids can have fun jumping on the new pumpkin pad, or sliding down the super straw slides.

The bee line swings are also a favorite amongst the little ones. Kids can buzz down the zip line past interesting facts about bees.

You can’t leave the fun park without a attempting to make your way through this year’s corn maze which just do happens to resemble a popular cartoon character. The corn maze at Fifer Orchards takes up 6 acres. Once you make it out of the maze, head on over to the pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect carving pumpkin.

Fifer Orchards is open until the end of Nov., Mon.-Sat. from 10 am-5 pm.
