The Ocean Pines community is located just outside of Ocean City.
Ocean Pines is taking a few steps to make it more welcoming to visitors and prepare for what is to come in the future. Sean stops by Ocean Pines to learn more.
Sitting on 3,000 acres in Worcester county, the Ocean Pines residential community got its start in the 1960’s. It wasn’t long after that, they decided to build a yacht club.
In 2014 a brand new facility was built and now, it’s going through a few more changes, as the Ocean Pines Yacht Club becomes formally known as Mumford’s Landing in Ocean Pines.
Sean talks with Denise Sawyer, marketing and public relations director with the Ocean Pines Association, who says this year when you walk into the yacht club, you will see eight local beers on tap, instead of an empty hallway.
Denise also says you do not have to be part of the community to visit the yacht club and restaurant – The Cove at Mumford’s.
General Manager of The Cove at Mumford’s, Brian Townsend, says they are serving fresh, local, coastal cuisine such as crab cakes and scallops. Brian says they offer date night specials on Friday night.
They offer casual dining as well as a fine dining experience. Brian also says they have great music and local bands and The Cove is open year-round.
