We learn all about the man behind the medicine when Jimmy gives Dr. Jim Burns a ride to work in this Driving with Docs segment.
Dr. Burns works at Peninsula Wound and Hyperbaric Center at Peninsula Regional Medical Center as a Medical Director.
Dr. Burns worked as an EMT for many years before deciding to go to medical school. He has been practicing in Salisbury since 1988 where he started in the emergency department.
Dr. Burns enjoys skydiving and he has a drone. He has three kids who are all very successful.
He didn’t seem to take a direct course to where he is today, but he followed his life to see where it was going to take him.
“You have to wait until you find something that you’d give up everything for – not give up everything, but you will work hard,” Dr. Burns says.
