Sleep deprivation often comes with the welcoming of a new born baby, but there are different ways parents can fit sleep into their new schedule.

Linda Orderly, director of Peninsula Sleep Waves is with PRMC. She said sleep deprivation results in a higher chance of incurring diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and mood disorders. It is important to get 7-9 hours of sleep, allowing the body to heal. Fortunately, there are a number a ways to combat insomnia.
