These days, most banking experiences are done either online or at an ATM.
Provident State Bank has introduced universal banking to Delmarva. It’s a way to combine the best of the old with the best of the new.
“The universal banking concept is essentially when the customer comes they’re greeted immediately by a universal banker and they can do everything from A to Z,” said Greg Johnson, CEO, Provident State Bank.
The idea of initiating universal banking came from researching both the industry and the customers Provident State Bank already serves. After customers are greeted by a universal banker, they are taken to a location where their services can be provided. According to Provident State Bank President and COO Melissa Quirk, the branch layout is very open and modern. The teller counter has been replaced by a tele-pod.
The branch also has a convenience bar supplied with coffee, local pastries, and a place to check your accounts online, or to charge your smartphone. Customers are also invited to take a break on a comfortable sofa and watch TV.
Quirk said each branch has a conference room that is available to customers at no cost.
Provident State Bank started in Caroline County in 1904 and currently has eight branches in Caroline, Talbot, and Dorchester Counties.
Johnson said Provident State Bank is preparing to break ground on a new branch in Salisbury on Mt. Herman Road.
