When people head to the beach for vacation, they like to spend time shopping for gifts to take home to their loved ones.

There’s a shop in Lewes that is full of unique items made by local artists. Lisa recently stopped by Sassy Chic and finds out why you need to make it a regular stop in your travels.

Lynn Misener discovered she had an artistic talent one year around Christmas time. She painted on old wine glasses, put their name on the glass, and used it as a way to assign their seats at dinner. From there, Lynn was hooked.

She started painting other glassware, such as wine bottle and beer glasses, and started selling them at craft shows. When it became too much work to travel with all the glassware, Lynn decided to sell her art in one place and that’s how she ended up in the Beaman’s Old and New Antiques location.

Most of the furniture and the collectibles are the Beaman’s and the art and photographs are what Lynn and her husband sell. In addition to her painted glassware, Lynn has taken up window art. However, Lynn is not the only artist whose work can be found at the shop.

“Some of them are friends, some of them are relatives, my husband has some of his photography here and most of the other people are either friends or people we’ve met on the craft circuit,” Lynn says. “So people that I saw made things that I like and I want to strive for uniqueness.”

Sassy Chic is located on Rt. 9 just before you get to Rt. 1 and it’s the perfect place to stop for gifts whether you’re heading to the beach or returning home.
