Solar panels could help you say goodbye to that monthly electric bill.

Sunrise Solar has been helping people on Delmarva harness the sun’s rays to power their homes or business since 2010. CEO, Rich Stoltzfus tells us all about Sunrise Solar and how it all works.

Rich says his company installed the first aggregate metering system in the state of Maryland. This means anyone who qualifies can use solar panels from one location to power another, as long as all the meters are under the same electric company.

Dan Parsons took advantage of aggregate metering on his poultry farm in Salisbury. Rich says Dan won’t need to worry about an electric bill on his farm for 25 years. The only cost he’ll have is the cost of the system.

It’s not just about saving money. Solar power is a form of renewable energy making the home or business more environmentally friendly.

“Basically when the sun comes up in the morning, it automatically starts the panels to work,” Rich says.

Whatever isn’t used goes back to the electric company, earning the home or business owner a credit which is used when the sun isn’t shining.

Rich and his team can build systems to cover 100% of the electric used, or just a portion and they work closely with their costumers throughout the process to ensure they’re getting exactly what they need.
