Sometimes, we do not put a lot of thought into what shoes we put on our feet.
In fact, for some, shoes are more about fashion than function, but they don’t have to be – you can have both. 102.5 WBOC’s Corey Phoebus recently stopped by Vernon Powell and met with a pedorthist who helped him pick out the right shoes that had both style and comfort.
Corey talks with Certified Pedorthist, Ann Baker, about what a pedorthist does.
“A certified pedorthist goes through extended training on bio-mechanics, lower limbs, pathophisology,” Ann says. “We learn about different diseases and pathologies in the feet.”
Pedorthists at Vernon Powell can help you with getting the right type of shoe just to make you more comfortable all the way up to making shoe modifications. They perform an exam or can help fill a ‘doctors order’ if they have instructed you to get an examination done or buy a certain shoe from Vernon Powell.
