Spring is here and you can certainly tell at Vernon Powell in Salisbury.
Alan Merritt of Vernon Powell says this year’s line of spring shoes is all about color, especially blue.
“Probably the first thing that’s exciting is the whole blue story,” said Merritt. “It’s the whole hues of blue, whether it’s a light blue, a darker blue, or medium Caribbean blue.”
Merritt says block heels are big in women’s dress shoes. He says to look for all heights and all styles sporting the block heel, whether it’s a stacked heel, covered in fabric, or made of cork.
Flip-flops are always in style this time of year, but Merritt says women are looking for more comfort and support in their summer shoes.
Joe Wright of Vernon Powell says the Vionic line is always a big seller.
“The Vionic flip-flop has a very nice arch support,” said Wright. “It really is the perfect balance between firm and flexible.”
New in apparel this year at Vernon Powell is the Prana line of active wear. Wright says it’s designed to wear to the gym or other active event, but stylish enough to also wear around town.
Wright says one of the most popular apparel lines at VP is Simply Southern, and this year, there are more choices. In addition to the t-shirts, hats, and other accessories, you’ll find dresses.
