We often tell you that DelmarvaLife is all about celebrating Delmarva. And a big part of that includes that nature on this Peninsula.
We have a lot of beauty to take in on a daily basis. How lucky are we that we can see a glimpse of all of it with one stop at the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, Salisbury University.
Curator and folklorist, Jackson Medel, and education director, Aurelio Giannitti, join us in Historic Studio D to tell us all about the exciting things happening at the Ward Museum, such as the Patrick Henry Exhibit.
The Works of Patrick Henry will be an exhibit on display from Jan. 26-May 13. Patrick Henry is a painter and photographer and has been living and working on the Eastern Shore for most of his life. He is a skilled artist and captures the essence of Delmarva through his own vision of the people and places of the shore.
There is a free reception on Jan. 26 from 5 pm-7 pm at the Ward Museum. Patrick will be there and you can see his work and talk to him. This is part of the 50th Anniversary of the Ward Foundation and they are focusing heavily on local and regional artists.
The student art show is also going on now at the Ward Museum. Each year the Ward museum hosts a non-competitive student art show. The Ward Museum invites K-12 students from Delmarva to submit their artwork based on a particular theme to the annual art show. If you’d like to submit your artwork for entry, you can bring the artwork to the museum and fill out an entry form. Entries will be accepted until Feb. 5. This art show opens on Feb. 9 will be on display until April 15.
