Service above self.

George Whitehead, past president of the Salisbury Rotary Club said that “Service Above Self” is the motto the club lives by, to reflect core values onto the people around you.

George said that the club strives for other values such as integrity, leadership, diversity, and fellowship. Those values are combined to create the global Rotarian groups. One of the global projects rotary clubs help with is the irradiation of polio.

They also give $96,000 dollars to scholarships and charities per year.

The 4-Way Test is a measure of a persons quality through these four attributes: truthfulness, fair to all concerned, builds goodwill and friendship, and beneficial to all concerned.

The Salisbury Rotary Club awards one nominee each year with a 4-Way Test Award, to honor his or her exemplary values and traits in the community.

If you know someone who exemplifies these qualities and you would like to nominate them for the 4-Way Test Award sponsored by the Rotary Club, you can go to their website, here. The deadline to apply is April 1st.
