On Saturday, May 7, the Greater Seaford, Del. Chamber of Commerce, local vendors and community members will gather downtown for the ‘1st Saturday in Seaford’ event.
The celebration kicks off at noon on the corner of Spring and High Streets. During the event, spectators can enjoy live entertainment, food vendors, cornhole tournaments, craft beers, local wines, crafters, artisans and produce.
Nassau Valley Vineyard, Great Shoals Winery, Harvest Ridge Winery and 16 Mile Brewery will be featured during this event, as well as live music by The Runner-Ups and food trucks by Backyard Louie’s BBQ, Vittles and Carls Gourmet Hots.
The Greater Seaford Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Lynn Brocato, says the purpose of 1st Saturday is to bring people back to downtown Seaford.
“It’s a way for us to highlight the downtown and the revitalization projects, and bring people into the downtown and enjoy local vendors and music,” Brocato says.
According to Brocato, by attracting community members to the downtown area, new businesses could be attracted to fill vacant lots and buildings in the town.
The monthly event got its start in November 2015 and is sponsored by the Greater Seaford of Commerce and the City of Seaford. The event is held every first Saturday from 12 p.m.-5 p.m.
