The Seaford Volunteer Fire Department will hold its 24th annual Toy and Train Show on Saturday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature three model train displays brought in from collectors and train enthusiasts on Delmarva. Also on hand will be a large number of vendors selling model train and toy train items.

Ron Marvel, a Seaford VFD spokesman, said this event has grown quite a bit over the years.

“It’s definitely a worthwhile event if you are looking for toy trains,” Marvel said. “We use both floors of the fire house, and we pull all of the engines out of their bays so we can put tables for vendors in there too.”

Marvel said that this event has functioned as a fundraiser for the department since its beginning, bringing in money that helps sustain the firehouse as well as the engines and equipment needed to protect the community.

Tables are available for vendors with products related to the show. Admission is $3 and children under 12 are free.

Marvel believes this event benefits both the fire department and the community.

“We’ve been very successful in bringing people from all over the Eastern Shore to Seaford,” he said. “Not only does it help us in keeping the fire department running, but it also helps us look out for the general town commerce.”
