We’re learning about a program that aims to stop the bullying epidemic.
The owner of Southside Jiu Jitsu Academy in Salisbury, Miles Moffit joins us to tell us about the Southside BBJ Bully Program, Inc. It’s a 501-c3 non-profit program serving Salisbury and the surrounding areas.
The Southside BJJ Bully Program Inc. gives your child the tools they need to not become the victim of a bully. They work with children from the ages of six-years-old and up.
“Sometimes the confidence that comes from the training can be more beneficial than the techniques themselves,” Miles says. “Many times a conflict can be avoided just by the way you look and the way you carry yourself.”
Their goal is to make this program available for everyone. Miles says they do not want to turn away any child who needs this program. They want to help those families that do not have the ability to pay and may not be able to afford the classes.
They also teach competition Jiu Jitsu and Jiu Jitsu for self-defense. Miles says their mission is to end bullying by taking away the victims. Head to their website for more information.
