St. Michaels Winery in St. Michaels, Md. is known as “The Shore Venue for Wine Tasting.” Located on South Talbot Street, the small town winery offers group and private tastings daily beginning at 11 a.m.

According to Joseph Doherty, a server at the winery, the establishment has been in existence for about ten years now, offering a variety of different local wines, mostly from the Eastern Shore. Doherty says his job couldn’t get any better.

“It’s all the people you get to meet, interacting with people and serving people wine who really love wine,” Doherty says, with a smile.

St. Michaels Winery offers a variety ranging from dry whites, dry reds and sweet wines. A few popular ones on the list include Sparkling Vidal Blanc, “Island Belle” Sangiovese and Gollywobbler Black.

With 20 plus wines to chose from, you are sure to be satisfied. In addition to great wine and service, St. Michael’s Winery holds several festivals throughout the year, including the Decanter Wine and Racing Festival, Winefest at St. Michaels, Wine In The Woods and more.

Looking to join a wine club? You can do that too. If you join St. Michaels Winery Wine Club, you receive complimentary tastings, discounts on wines and cases, as well as a yearly member party.

Make a trip out of it. In addition to the winery, Talbot Street in St. Michaels offers small town eateries and shops.

“It’s a very nice landmark,” Doherty says. “We have a very large group of locals and tourists that come in for tastings and it’s a great place to meet…”
