Jason Lurie brought his butterfly xhibit to the Delaware State Fair this year. Lurie said this is a business that he and his family started a couple of years ago. His family took classes to learn more about butterflies. Lurie’s exhibit features more than 200 butterflies, including monarchs, painted ladies, swallowtails and cloaks.

Lurie has exhibits that vary in size. The larger the exhibit, the larger the tent and the longer the time needed for set-up. For the exhibit at the Delaware State Fair, it takes six hours to set up and two hours to take down. The exhibit travels around to different fairs.
If you pay a visit to Exhibit Hall, you can feed the butterflies nectar with a feeding stick.
“Not too many people get this close to nature where you can actually interact with a butterfly and feed it,” Lurie said. “It’s different.”

Lurie is from Florida and he said he came all the way to Delaware just to exhibit his butterflies.
