It was a rare sight in Milford, Del. on Thursday.
According to Lt. Edward Husey of the Milford Police Department, two cows from Milford High School’sFuture Farmers of America program got loose on Thursday afternoon and traveled pretty far.
“Apparently they crossed the highway near the school, came all the way down by the Chic-fil-A, behind Southern States and then west behind that interstate,” Huey said.
Huey said once the police department got the information, officers located the cows and members of the FFA came and brought the two cows back.
Cows crossing the highway are not something you see every day and many took to social media sharing the abnormal scene.
Even Huey chuckled thinking back on the situation, after mentioning no one was harmed by the escape of the livestock.
Juli Phillips was working at the Milford Chic-fila-A and captured this video:
“I had just gotten off work when I saw the cows running across the highway. Caught it just in time!” Phillips said.
Phillips said those at Chic-fila-A enjoyed the irony of it all.
So now you may ask, why did the cows cross the road? We were told the chickens had the day off!
