A Chesapeake Bay skipjack fleet that used to consist of around 800 boats has now dwindled down to just about 25 or so. The bulk of those remaining skipjacks were on Deal Island on Labor Day, celebrating their heritage. What better way to do that, than through an old-fashioned race?
