Author Bonnie Mae Evans stops by the DelmarvaLife set to discuss her new book, 

The Trees Will Clap

. The fictional book is based on a moment in Bonnie’s childhood on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Bonnie emphasizes the value of family in whatever form that takes, and the journey a family takes over a lifetime. Her book is told from a child’s perspective, and is intertwined with nostalgic adult recollections of her early years growing up on the rural Delmarva Peninsula in the 1960s. The story explores unlikely friendships, tragedy, healing and God.

Research shows 88% of Americans feel comfortable discussing issues relating to death and dying; yet, studies show, only 42% have a living will. Perhaps that number is so low because people really don’t understand the importance of something like a living will, or an advanced directive. Coastal Hospice can help make the process crystal clear. Compass Program Coordinator, Mark Massey, and Rochelle Corbin, RN, stop by the studio to run down a list of what to consider when planning for the future.

We also sit down with Lieutenant Tim Robinson with the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office to find out who is in the hot seat for this week’s Most Wanted Monday.

There are a few summertime staples on Delmarva: crabs, the beach, and having fun in the sun on the beautiful waters that surround the peninsula. Before you jump into the boat or on a jet ski, you’ll want to take the proper precautions to make sure everyone stays safe on the water. Corey stops by Bayside Jet Drive in Berlin to share several summer safety tips.

We always end our weeks with great music on the Mid South Audio stage. Today, we’re starting our week with great music. Sixteen-year-old Alexa Nastasi performs two songs for us. Alexa is attending the Broadway Artists Alliance in New York City this summer. On her last day, she will perform for Broadway agents. We can’t wait to spend some time with Alexa in Historic Studio D!
