Healthy family fun, that’s what you’ll find at

PRMC’s Healthfest

coming up this weekend. Over 35 free health screenings, including skin cancer screenings aboard the PRMC Wagner Wellness Van, will be available the day of the event and without pre-registration. We’re talking with Healthfest Chairman for P-r-m-c, Roger Follebout, Florence Rayne, the the Vascular Lab Supervisor at PRMC and Sergeant Michael Mann, the Eastern Region Supervisor for the Maryland State Police Aviation Command. The event will be held at James M. Bennett High School on College Avenue in Salisbury. It is for all ages held from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Prom is a very fun spring event, but for many high school students, it can be a very expensive. We’re talking to Executive Director of Horizons Salisbury, Brittney Glenn to learn how the organization is offering beautiful prom dresses for a very small fraction of the price and how this effort is also helping out the community in which we live.

Chef Patrick Fanning has a new restaurant in Trappe Called Mitchum’s Tavern. He’s making Pan Fried Skate Wing, Poached Fingerling Potatoes and Roasted Crimini Mushrooms.

 

Join Happy Timers for drop-in Zumba Gold classes on Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m. from April 11May 9 at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center’s Da Nang Room 3. According to the Zumba website, Zumba Gold classes are for “active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba® class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity.”

Also- On April 14 Sō Percussion is bringing it’s unique sounds and rhythms to Lewes at Bethel United Methodist Church, 4th & Market Streets at 8PM. Starting at 6:30, the members of Sō Percussion will host a discussion with audience members. General admission tickets for this “Wild Card” concert are $25 thanks to grants from Dogfish Head Craft Brewery and the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation.
