Earlier in the week, we had Dr. Suni Jani of Community Behavior Health talk to us about the need for mental health services here on Delmarva. She touched on the stigma many associate with seeking treatment. Today, we share with you an event that’s mission is to end that stigma. The event is called eRace the Stigma and today, we welcome psychologist at The Child and Family Center, Dr. Samantha Scott, as well as Lynn Sande, race director and youth development advisory committee member to the studio. They share with us more information about the E-Race the Stigma 5K, other events happening on race day, and how the community can help on a daily basis. When thinking about the health of your family, it is important to also remember the health of those family members with four legs. To help us learn more about parasites and the threat they pose dogs, we welcome Dr. Elizabeth Bruce, the medical director of Veterinary Medical Center in Easton to the show. She tells us about prevention, symptoms of fleas, ticks, and parasites, and how to treat them.
One group on the peninsula is using their love for motorcycles to give back. Two members of Sons of Thunder, Kevin Wilcox and “Uncle” Jon Conley, join us to give us more information on how they are helping veterans get motorcycles, the organizations goals for the future, and other events they organize for those that have served our country. They also provide information on how you at home can get involved with the group.
Sunset East joins us today on the Mid South Audio Stage. Based out of Nashville, they created a rock band based off of artists like The Eagle and The Dave Matthews Band. We talk to them about their upcoming EP and jam out to their sweet sounds. You don’t want to miss out on this!
