Lisa and Jimmy with Chef Doug Ruley

Today on DelmarvaLife:

Before this year, the Delmar High School field hockey team had never won a state championship. Well that all changed in November when they defeated Tower Hill 3-0 to be crowned the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association Champions. Sean stops by Delmar High School to chat with the Wildcats about their victory. He also tries his hand at being a field hockey goalie.

Lt. Tim Robinson with the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office has a new list of most wanted for us. See today’s Most Wanted Monday here.

During the holidays, you may have some invited guests in your home if you aren’t careful. The experts at Rice’s Termite and Pest Control offer some advice to keep the party crashers outside.

Chef Doug Ruley with Bluecoast is in the DelmarvaLife kitchen today making a crab martini.

“OLD SCHOOL” BLUECOAST CRAB MARTINI

  •  1lb jumbo crab meat
  • ½ cup mayo
  • 1 tbsp. mustard
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 pinch old bay
  • 6 gherkin pickles
  • 2 bamboo skewers
  • 2 martini glasses

In a small bowl add mayo, mustard and zest half the lemon, then squeeze juice, save lemon, mix well.

Next in a large bowl add crab meat.

Gently fold mayo dressing with crab trying not to break the lumps. Chill and set aside.

To assemble place old bay on a small flat plate. Next take already squeezed lemon and rub the rim of the martini glasses like you would if you were to salt a margarita.

Next pile the crab equally amongst the two glasses.

Roughly 5-6 oz. per glass.

You will have a little leftover for a late-night snack.

Take three gherkins per skewer.

Garnish crab salad martini with one skewer per glass.

Enjoy and serve with a side of your favorite crackers.
